Give It Up

Give It Up, Jemeria Cummings, Ephesians 6:10-17, Galatians 5:19-21

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
~ Galatians 5:19-21 ~

Once you come into the knowledge of Christ and make Him your personal Savior, there are things you must give up. God desires the best for you. To gain with Christ, it is necessary let go of the garbage in your heart. You understand your spirit man battles your flesh constantly. However, God provides you gear for the battle. Ephesians 6: 10-17

Many bad habits and activities you need to let go, and surrender to God. Some things may be easier to give up than others. Fortunately, you don’t have to play a guessing game with what you should and should not be doing. Galatians 5:19-21 is very clear.

Who is not reluctant to admit your struggle with the works of our flesh? The truth is, we strive to be perfect,  but none of us are perfect. We all fall short at one time or another in our lives.

Thankfully, God is a loving, gracious, and merciful God who is patient with you. As you develop a relationship with Him and admit your faults, he gives you the power to deny your fleshly desires and forgives your sins. He transforms your heart to desire what He desires for your life.

No matter what you are struggling with, it is not too hard for God to deliver you from. Admit to Him the things you are wrestling with in your flesh and trust Him to deliver you.

Spend time praying and reading the scriptures as a part of your daily life to stay connected in His word and hear from Him. God created you to inherit the kingdom of God, let no fleshly desire stand in your way. Trust God and Give it up!
